I have been wanting to watch the movie Whale, starring Brandon Fraser. So when I saw it available on Amazon Prime Video, I jumped on the chance and watched it in one sitting.
You may find this movie slow and depressing if you do not know the BTS (behind the scenes, not the K-pop group) stories. But if you know the story, you will see the success and inspiration by the time the movie ends.
Without giving you spoilers - I can share 2 things about the movie.
(1) The movie is deeply relevant to Brandon Fraser's life story, but it was not written for him. You should learn a little about his life and his struggles before watching the movie.
(2) The writer (or was it a producer? I forget) wrote the story about 10 (?) years ago and put it on the shelf because he could not find an actor who could play the character. So he waited, waited, and waited. Then there came Brandon Fraser.
Remember, this is Brandon Fraser's come-back movie, and he received 6-minute ovations. Find it and watch it, too. It is so emotional.
