Do you know what the Mandela Effect is?
Its definition reads that it's collective false memories that trick our brains into believing in something.
I agree with its definition, and it explains the phenomena. I think it is valid.
But when you have certain incidences associated with it, especially chains of them, I cannot help but think that I am now living in an alternate universe.
For instance, I remember first noticing a Jiffy Lube commercial. My family and I laughed, went to the pantry, brought out a bottle of Jiffy peanut butter, compared two names, and joked that Jiffy peanut butter may not be actually peanut butter. Then one day, I read the official history by the company itself, saying that it has always been Jif, never been Jiffy or not even Jiff.
