Daily Lucky Box coins nerfed down

I'm in Canada and I have 3 Daily Lucky boxes to open each day, after 0, 1000 and 2000 steps respectively.

 

It was common to get over 10 coins each, but recently it was nerfed down to almost half, getting around 5 coins each.

 

Anyone noticed the same?

 

The app has been nagging me recently to update which I didn't, in case the new update changes anything to the worse (if it's not broken don't fix it). Not sure if updating the app will help here.

    Are you on Android or apple? I'm in USA on Android and I still get the 7 lucky boxes and it's usually 5+ for points. But I have heard the apple users get less points more frequently

      I’m on iOS, and I updated the app today and figured out the problem. They indeed increased the Lucky Boxes from 3 to 7 and introduced the double points if you watch a 2nd ad. This is why each box now earns half the points.
