There are, but symptoms could overlap with other conditions.  A quick check with a BP monitor would give you your answer.

It is called the silent killer. I had absolutely no symptoms. I agree with the other person, just have yours checked regularly. If you have access to a free blood pressure monitor at the drugstore or the Walmart, use it. If you have a friend with a monitor at home, use it. If your insurance company will provide you with one for free like mine does, use it.

(QnA 3) You can go to a drug store that has free blood pressure monitor. I used it once, it's pretty good!

Not always do symptoms show. If they do or if the blood pressure is extreme, symptoms like nausea, chest pains, shortness of breath can occur (to name a few) The best way to know is regular checkups, or having a home blood pressure device.

High blood pressure (hypertension) is often called a "silent killer" because it may not present any noticeable symptoms, especially in its early stages. However, some people may experience symptoms when their blood pressure reaches extremely high levels or in cases of hypertension urgency or emergency.

Here are some potential signs and symptoms that could indicate high blood pressure:

    1. Headaches: Severe headaches, especially those that come on suddenly, can be a sign of extremely high blood pressure.

    2. Dizziness or lightheadedness: Feeling faint or dizzy might occur if blood pressure is very high or if it causes issues with blood flow.

    3. Nosebleeds: Although not common, frequent nosebleeds can occur with high blood pressure.

    4. Shortness of breath: Difficulty breathing may be a symptom if high blood pressure affects your heart or lungs.

    5. Angina (chest pain): Chest pain or discomfort can occur, especially if high blood pressure is affecting the heart.

    6. Vision problems: Blurred vision or changes in vision might occur if high blood pressure affects the eyes.

    7. Fatigue: Unexplained tiredness can sometimes be related to hypertension.

    8. Blood in urine: This can indicate kidney issues related to high blood pressure.

Since many people with high blood pressure do not experience symptoms, regular check-ups and monitoring are important, especially if you have risk factors such as obesity, a sedentary lifestyle, or a family history of hypertension. Keeping your blood pressure within a healthy range is crucial for preventing complications. If you're concerned about your blood pressure or experience any warning signs, it's best to consult with a healthcare professional.
