¡Es época de apareamiento y tenemos pájaros carpinteros machos (un ave parecida a un pájaro carpintero para quienes no los conozcan) picoteando sin parar para atraer a su pareja! ¡Parece que les gusta especialmente picotear nuestro conducto metálico de la chimenea, a partir de las 6:30 de la mañana!

      They are actually quite cool (though notorious for their pecking - one has made a hole in the siding of our neighbour's house!).  I kind of like their drumbeat of their pecking (though not at 6:30 a.m.).  The other day there were 3 or 4 females lined up on a branch watching (or listening?) as the male does his thing!

I have a pair of nuthatches in one of my trees.   They peck away too.   Fun to watch and they make cute little noises

    I have a pair of flickers that come to a suet block I put out by my bird feeders. They seem to like pecking on an oak tree in my yard.
