21.13 - planta de tomate

21.13 - planta de tomate

Ha sido una batalla todo el verano, pero ¿quizás pueda sacar algunos tomates de mi planta este año? Si logro que se pongan rojos... ¿Algún consejo al respecto?

Have they been growing slow this year? Have you fertilized them at all?

21.24 - From what I've heard, every one is having trouble growing in my area. I have aunts that are seasoned gardeners, the ones who bring boxes of produce to family gatherings to give away and they are complaining about the state of their gardens. Makes me feel a little better and my 'garden'. It stinks putting all this effort into something to see it fail.

21.19 - This plant is 2.5 years old. I moved it inside with a grow lamp during the cold months and it grew huge! I had roots growing out the bottom of the planter it had been in. So I found a much larger container and transplanted Mater.

Nice! You can move it inside to finish ripening then! Also you can bury the stems - they will root and keep growing.

21.22 - I honestly think it grew better inside with my little grow lamp. It is nothing special. I used a gooseneck lamp and bought a grow light bulb after researching what kind of light a tomato needs. I went cross-eyed reading about spectrums and wattage but I must have bought the right thing because my plant produced many tomatoes all winter long. Then summer came and nothing! Thank goodness for my mom's garden or I might have starved...  ☠️

21.20 - Then dealt with blossom end rot on every. single. tomato. Apparently all you need to fix that problem is Tums, or whatever calcium antiacid chew you prefer. It works! I have done that 3x and no more blossom end rot!

21.21 - I use Miracle Grow specifically for tomatoes once a month. My area is in a drought so I am watering the plant every morning, too. These tomatoes had better taste like chocolate for as much work as they are taking this year!
