20.81 - I have had these smoothies. If you are worried about the avocado in this recipe, the pumpkin and maple syrup are strong flavors that easily overpower it. The worst part is the texture of the flaxseed.

    82. Avocado is not good for you. It's 15% fat & only 2% protein.

20.84 - And although avocados are high in fat, it's mainly healthy monounsaturated fat. Research has found that this type of fat in your diet can help trim your waistline. Speaking of your blood vessels, the American Heart Association recommends that the majority of the fat you eat be unsaturated, like you'll find in avocados, rather than the saturated fats in foods like red meats and whole-milk dairy foods. Early research now shows that avocados in particular can also help lower "bad" cholesterol, triglycerides, and blood pressure.

20.85 - Avocados are a good source of vitamin E, which may help prevent Alzheimer's disease as well as slow age-related thinkinking and memory decline. Thank vitamin E's ability to ward off cell damage caused by the sun and pollution for this!

20.86 -  avocados contain oleic acid, a monounsaturated fatty acid (also found in olive oil and nuts) that can cut the odds of breast cancer, according to one study of over 4,000 women. A compound in avocados called avocatin B can kill leukemia cells, according to a study.

20.87 - For men, avocados improve prostate health.  Avocados contain more than four times as much beta-sitosterol as oranges, the next richest fruit source. Beta-sitosterol, a kind of plant sterol, may help relieve symptoms of an enlarged prostate. (It's part of the family of phytonutrients that help block your body from absorbing "bad" LDL cholesterol.)
