Hunting at Roadside III #4

Lilac (Syringa) spikes appear in spring (around May and June) beautifully scented and packed with small, lilac-pink blooms. It has glossy, heart-shaped leaves, smooth bark. It displays spikes of densely packed, small, pale pinky-purple flowers that have a sweet smell.

The flowering season is short, usually around three weeks, but the fragrance and size of the blooms compensate for it. Lilacs are often considered to symbolize first love.
