Use It Or Lose It - Using Gym Equipment

Although many avid weightlifters and bodybuilders alike will argue that the Smith Machine is for "weaker" lifters (to put it lightly), I am here to convince you of all the benefits that it can give you to. Whether you're a weekend warrior or an everyday go getter, let me show you how the Smith Machine, and adjacent machines, are right for your workout routine!

The most appealing element of this machine is the idea of safety. If you fail during your lift, be it squat, deadlift, row, bench, etc; the Smith Machine has got your back! The traction of the bar being attached allows for users to work on their fitness with ease and comfort, knowing that failure is an option but doesn't result in serious injury. In fact, this very element is incentive for you to try and lift heavy on this machine! I will caution that what you might be able to do on this piece of equipment doesn't 100% translate to the free weight version of the exercises, but it still gives you the chance to really overload your muscles and make them work! 💪🏻 

The other piece that I love about the Smith Machine is the variety of equipment you can hook up to it. Whether it's the main barbell or the cables or various other pulley devices, this machine lets you get a focused workout, whether you are looking for just one muscle group or a full body lift and everything else in between!

Smith Machines themselves are crazy expensive to purchase for your own home, but with a reasonably priced gym membership, you likely could get away with only using this machine at the gym for endless variability in your workouts!
