The high-bar back squat is the basic movement for Olympic lifts and functional fitness athletes. Low-bar back squat gives more potential to lift a maximum weight.  This is  why this technique is mainly used by powerlifters, strongmen and bodybuilders. Some people believe that Low bar is good for people with long limbs. But others think ultimately where the bar ends up is less important than how the athlete executes the movement.
