I love using my phone while in the middle of the lake. My wife would tell you that I love using my phone in the middle of the lake too much.
Ever since I started paddle boarding, a couple of years ago, I also started putting my phone into a dry bag, so I could take it with me.
This type of dry bag is clear. The phones screen is easily visible through it. the touch screen works very well, and I can even take pictures without having to take it out of the bag.
The bag itself is on a lop which I can wear around my neck, so I don't have to worry about dropping it in the water.

I guess it does sound risky, but I've been doing this for a couple of years now. I've taken my phone paddle boarding, kayaking, canoeing, and even swimming and snorkeling, and it's actually been pretty great. I've been able to take pictures and videos while in the water, and even underwater.

Agreed. I love being able to take my phone with me. My dream is to have a Zoom or Teams (or whatever) video call while in the water. My wife's dream is for me to stop thinking up these types of scenarios.

Here's a tip: I find that the touch screen becomes unresponsive when I take it underwater, so I cannot take pictures. The workaround I use it to start recording a video before going under and just letting it run until I come back up.

I'm terrified of accidentally losing my phone underwater and sometimes use a thin plastic sandwich bag instead. 😄

These work better, and a lot of them (like mine) can be worn around your neck.
