La marche est la meilleure chose à faire

Plus de 8 000 pas aujourd'hui… ça fait du bien. J'envisageais d'en faire plus de 10 000, mais ici, au Manitoba, il faisait trop froid pour une longue marche.

I so totally agree about the walking, I have no idea about Manitoba, lol. Walking gave me my life back after I was in a really serious car accident about 20 years ago. The accident left my body broken and in a lot of pain so I adopted a very sedentary lifestyle... and gained 200lbs. At nearly 400lbs and with numerous physical limitations from the accident, there are not many exercise options available. I started walking short distances with a partner, usually my sister or my boyfriend since I am a fall risk (both of whom have caught me from diving headfirst into traffic a few times!). I increased my distance as I was able to. Now, after losing around 200lbs my average walks are 4 miles long. I can't wait for summer and my late night walks when the sun isn't baking me!

It defintely does have huge advantages, if I need to get my weight down, that's all I have to do too. But I love it when the sun is baking me, more sweat, more fat gone 🤣 and I always figure winter will be here fast enough then I won't be able to enjoy it as much
