Lots of berries I've been taught by my elders what to eat or not. If I'm not sure, I use Google Lens and then do more research about if it has poisonous look alikes. If I'm not 100% sure what it is, I don't eat it

Sarsaparilla was the original root beer! It was deemed carcinogenic and banned by the US government so that's why root beer today doesn't use sarsaparilla.
