Today is national find your inner nerd, Cuban sandwich, sponge cake and ride the wind day. If I had to pick, I'd say I'm a book nerd. I love to read and can completely lose track of my surroundings when I get absorbed in a story. Ride the wind day commemorates the anniversary of the first human-powered flight to win the Kremer prize. In 1977, the Gossamer Condor flew the first figure-eight course specified by the Royal Aeronautical Society at Minter Field in Shafter, CA. It traveled a distance of 2,172 meters at a whopping 11mph.
