An interesting piece of trivia about the movie. In the book that the movie was based on, Dorothy finds Silver, not Ruby Slippers. The film makers decided to change the colour of the slippers to take advantage of the new colourization process that they used in the making of the movie.
I watched that recently after not seeing it for many years. it was very quaint.
