My landlord won't allow pets sadly. I did use to have a red cheeked conure called cracker. We moved into our current house with him & our landlord was ok with him staying. Sadly he passed away 6 years ago, he was 30 years old.

I used to have a dog, a cat and some fish. Had to give the dog up when my second son was a baby because the dog was having accidents all over the house and I couldn't have the baby crawling through that. The cat passed several years ago. The fish I downsized the tank and eventually they died and I didn't replace them. Since those days I developed allergies to most cats and dogs. I loved having the protection of the dog and the cuddles with both, but I honestly don't miss having pets. It is nice to be able to go away without worrying about getting help with the pets.

you can get a fish or so sort of water creature.
i used to have a turtle but it died.
i thought turtles lived  forever

Fish can be pets.  So can birds and snakes.  Even spiders.  Ants.

Omg ! I do have dogs that are hypoallergenic but this little guy is the cutest. !!!

I have fish...They are quite enjoyable to watch and take care of too...You can give it a try too if you or your son like fish
