I like to do steps workouts to help tone my legs. You can follow some simple aerobic steps exercises with low step-ups: basic right, basic left, turn step and A step. 

 

It's also useful to just climb more stairs and it helps with knees too.  Take the stairs more often in your day to day and you'll see noticeable results!
