La pandemia della pressione alta. Sei a rischio?

I'm lucky it doesn't run in my family.  I need to calm my anxiety down.

According to my GP and gynecologist heredity trumps lifestyle. I have a family history of high blood pressure related deaths on my father's side and several members have died young relatively speaking of strokes. That being said, I have never lived the kind of lifestyle my elders did. Many were heavy, sedentary, some of them smoked, and there was a lot of life  lifestyle stress. I noticed this at a very early age and went in the opposite direction once I was in charge of my own decisions. Nevertheless, at 56,  I learned that I had high blood pressure and I am now on a low dose of medication. You're absolutely right that some people can improve their situation by changing their lifestyle but heredity trumps all that.
