Il mio fiore selvatico preferito è sempre stato il pizzo della regina Anna, anche se da bambino significava che la fine dell'estate era vicina (il pizzo della regina Anna fiorisce a fine luglio dove vivo). Proprio oggi ho scoperto che il pizzo della regina Anna è anche conosciuto come carota selvatica E che è commestibile! In effetti, l'intera pianta di pizzo della regina Anna è commestibile.

• le radici sono simili alle carote ma hanno meno sapore

• la testa del seme essiccata può essere utilizzata nelle tisane

• aggiungere fiori QAL alle insalate

• le foglie possono essere tritate e utilizzate come spezia

• gli steli possono essere mangiati una volta sbucciati

    17.28 - It is important to note there are several plants that closely resemble Queen Anne's Lace that are POISONOUS. People have died by consuming what they believed to be QAL so do not attempt to consume a plant unless you are sure!

    17.29 - The 2 plants that closely resemble QAL can be differentiated by smelling and closely looking at the plants before touching the plant. Even touching these imposter plants can be extremely harmful!

    17.30 - Both poison hemlock and its cousin, fool's parsley (Aethusa cynapium) smell disgusting, while Queen Anne's lace smells just like a carrot. In addition, the stem of the wild carrot is hairy while the stem of poison hemlock is smooth.

      I wouldn't rely on smell. I don't find poison hemlock to smell bad.

      QAL has a black/purple flower in the center of the flower cluster, while the poisonous species don't. Poison hemlock has purple spots on the stem, while QAL doesn't.

      17.33 - I know, right? I live in farmland, USA... Nothing but fields and cows as far as I can see. This flower grows along every road and ditch and available yard.

      17.34 - In looking up the information, I read it can smell like coriander or pepper. Is that your experience?

    Very pretty! I picked those as a child also. Had to make sure all the ants were off them before bringing them inside for my mom!

    Queen Anne's Lace also makes a nice colorfast cool yellow dye on wool and cotton.
