      In the US, it's an outdoor movie theatre. Imagine a huge parking lot with a movie screen at one end. All the movie watchers park facing the screen. In the old days, the was a removable speaker sitting on a short pole in every parking spot. You mounted the speaker on your car door. Now, I guess here's blue tooth. I haven't been to a drive-in for many years.ย

    A friend of mine has gone recently several times and he said he had a blast.ย 
In the past, and some still have it, they will run 2 or 3 movies that night. The first one meant for the young children. By time, most hope, it ends, the littlest ones have fallen asleep. The next movie intended for the old kids and teens, with the adult movie being the last one shown. Obviously there's a concession stand and a playground for the kids, so it was an evening out, starting at sunset or a little before and getting out around 11-11:30pm. Good memories.
