Have you tried adding the gift card to your Amazon account and see if they convert that into Canadian dollars? Perhaps just contact support. Hopefully they can assist you.

I used the Millionsteps app and it pays only to Amazon.com and they would not move the gift card to .ca so when I just tried to use it by the time they charge you shipping and everything I saved nothing being in Canada and I have a prime membership so deleting that app.
