When I learned that I had developed high blood pressure at the age of 55, I was in a state of denial. I live a healthy, active life, maintain my weight, and don't experience a tremendous amount of stress. My doctor explained that sometimes it's just in the genes. I guess that tracks with my dad's side of the family. I gave him some pushback about going on medication, but he said there are no lifestyle changes he would instruct me to make. I discussed non-medicinal alternatives but he countered that a low dose of Losorton is safe, effective, and cheap. He said his patients who tried supplements and herbal approaches found them inneffective. So, I caved. It's been over a year. I definitely do well on the low dose but I feel a little ashamed.
