One day movie

"One Day" (2011) is a dramatic and romantic film that narrates the lives of two friends, Emma and Dexter, through a series of significant moments, shown each year on July 15th, the day when they first met, over a period of twenty years.

 

 

The plot is based on David Nicholls' novel and is driven by the chemistry between the two leads portrayed by Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess, who bring to life the complex characters of Emma and Dexter. 

 

 

The non-linear narrative adds depth to the story, allowing the audience to see how the characters' choices influence their fate over the years. Also the scenery reflects the passage of time and the changes in the characters' lives.

 

 

Altough the film may be predictable and lack originality, I like the story between these two friends who loved each other's throughout a long period of their lives and the unconventional narrative structure with a slow pace of narrative, that makes possible to analyze how their relationship changes with their lives shifts. 

 

 

 

In conclusion, while it may not be groundbreaking, for me, it remains a touching experience and I suggest it for those who appreciate stories of personal growth and complex relationships.
