Not in Canada, but I found my older cat in a tree when she was a kitten. My second cat was a friendly stray who just walked into our house and didn't leave. Figure out where your feral colonies are and just try to get friendly with them. That or looke for your local pet shelter. Bound to be plenty of kitties looking for homes there.
