#45 : A longest post ,but as it is very informative, read and enjoyed it.
Unknown athletes.
We often hear or read about famous footballers, famous tennis players, famous golfers or basketball players who earn billions. But is an athlete's earnings equally divided? Let me explain better, a famous footballer plays ninety minutes, maybe less, maybe he doesn't even play and earns millions.
An unknown tennis player (but it could be any other discipline, even not famous), maybe runs back and forth for three hours and earns much much less, is that right? Many athletes from all over the world have come to these Olympics, most of them have to work (a real job) to support themselves. Sometimes these highly paid champions throw tantrums (yes, tantrums like children), because they are not humble people? Let's think about how many sacrifices an athlete has to make (and not only him). It starts when they are children, once they finish school they have to take them to do sports. It starts with one day a week, then two, and ends up every day. Parents or grandparents take these kids to various gyms, swimming pools or soccer fields, rain or shine, from spring to winter. Then as these kids grow up we have to take them to competitions, we have to buy uniforms and various accessories. When they manage to be independent, parents, friends, relatives always hope that these athletes become champions. Then when things go well and they get to the Olympics, their joy is immense, if then the medal arrives, all hell breaks loose. So I say to these overpaid pseudo champions, be humble, think about who will go back to work after the Olympics. Maybe even without a medal.
