TL;DR - you may not need to exercise during the week if you work out for at least 150 minutes over the weekend.
JAMA (The Journal of the American Medical Assn) followed almost 90K people and found that moderate to vigorous activity, concentrated during one or two days a week offers similar cardiovascular benefits to a similar amount of exercise spread throughout the week.
This is very encouraging and empowering. But then, individual results vary.
At the end of the day, it does not matter how much you do it. What's important is that you do it.
