Rechargeable batteries

I just bought the worst charger. I  takr yhe batteries out of the charger after they say full and I try them in my cats automatic feeder and it says they are dead.  So I then put them back in a different spot in the charger  and it says they aren't charged.  I have been trying to charge the same batteries for a day and a half.
