"Everyone needs the standard 8 hours of sleep a night." This would be great and make it simple to understand our bodies' needs, no?
Unfortunately, humans are MUCH more complicated and we are all different. Not everyone requires 8 hours of sleep a day. Not only that, just because you need 8 hours of sleep tonight does not mean you will need 8 hours of sleep tomorrow night or even next week!
