With the signature campy and heartfelt writing, acting, and directing, Ugly Betty features a wide variety of full characters in their individual stories involving but not exclusive to immigration, homophobia, race, wealth, and family. While some jokes would fly nowadays, the series stands on its own with its charm, wit, and compassion. Truly one of the gems of primetime tv.
