Pro tip - if you are on a budget get adjustable weights so you can remove and add weight as appropriate. Another suggestion is to get a style of weight that can be worn on either the ankle or wrist.
For the best leg workout, I wear ankle weights all day, everyday. I have 2lb, 5lb, and 10lb ankle weights to mix it up. If you are diabetic (like me), have edema (like I do), or some other health/skin issue, please use caution. I check my legs and feet every night. If there are any sensitive areas, raw spots, or areas of concern I do not wear the ankle weights until the area(s) are back to normal.
