Review Movies: Dune: Part Two

Djne was own of my favorite books growing up and I couldn't think of a more interesting and well done adaption of ten source material. While there are several things and events that were dropped (completely understandable as runtime is limited), it is still such a nuanced film that distills the important lesson of not trusting charismatic leaders. Even in times of injustice and severity, we should not be incentived or fall for such passion simply because we ourselves are powerless. That is a timeless lesson but especially now given the political climate over the past few years as well as the cireng Israeli-Palestinian war. The only ones who lose are the ones on the bottom because they are the only ones who will face real material consequences. The leaders will be protected by the powers that be because they have the wealth, status, and favourable education to survive the turmoil. We should provide for the ones who definitely will not.
