Stray kitten likes to come see my ducks

This little grey stray and his (not pictured) strawberry-blonde sibling like to hang out in my yard in the mornings. At first I thought they were waiting for my cat, Oni, because he goes out and plays with them some mornings. But then I realized that they mostly hang around the barnyard, a fenced-in area where my ducks graze during the day. Today it seemed like they were actually just waiting out there for me to release the ducks from the barn. They left when I started telling them they were good kitties, though ๐Ÿ˜†

Better watch out, they might eat your ducks. They're using their primal instincts to stock their prey.

My ducks are a breed called "Jumbo Pekin" and are the size of geese. My own cats know they're too big to mess with lol. The ducks are also only outside of the barn when I'm home (which is most of the time as I wfh) and they'll make a big ol ruckus if one of those cats tries anything ๐Ÿคฃ

Yeah! I really think both the cats and the ducks get some enrichment from seeing each other โค

What a cutie! ๐Ÿฅฐ I sure hope they leave your ducks alone though! My cat has injured/killed so fairly large birds over the years!

I'm not particularly concerned. My ducks are the "Jumbo Pekin" breed and they're as big as Canada geese. They're pretty aggressive, too, though ultimately harmless. I ocassionally let my cats into the barnyard and they're afraid of the ducks ๐Ÿคฃ
