Fans at the Paris Olympics 2024

Arguably, one of the greatest aspects of the Olympics that just ended was the fact that we got fans back in the stands to witness and cheer on all the action throughout the two weeks of the Olympics!

In the previous summer Olympics, Tokyo 2020, due to the ongoing worldwide pandemic, no fans were allowed to be in the stands, in coordination with Japan's social distancing protocols. This was extremely disappointing for both athletes and fans as they all deserved to take in the moments that were unique to that Olympics, but sadly could not. In this instance, I really do feel for the athletes who were unable to bring their families and friends to watch them compete in something they've been working towards for their entire life! 

Needless to say, among all of the amazing moments we had at this past Olympics, having the fans there to support these athletes compete to the best of their abilities was nothing short of spectacular! I loved seeing and hearing the fans really get involved in the competition as it unfolded. Regardless of sport, the fans gave everything they had to the athletes as they pursued their dreams of Olympic gold! 

With France being the host country of Paris 2024, the fans were most noticeable when a French athlete was competing! Without fail, whenever a French athlete was announced for a competition, the fans exploded with love and admiration for them - even if they were not the most high profile athlete! 

I look forward to seeing and hearing the fans for future Olympic Games! They are just as much a part of the Games as the athletes themselves!
