Her life was turned upside down in December 2012, when she was just 24. Until then, Gaëlle, a native of Annecy, was living the life of an 'ordinary' young woman: work, family, sport, friends and the mountains. Especially the mountains.

A chairlift accident changed everything. A brain haemorrhage, and Gaëlle wakes up hemiplegic, her left arm and leg paralysed, and the vision in her left eye severely impaired. "I thought I'd be back at work and back at sport in no time. It took me five years to accept that certain activities would no longer be possible."
