I liked the live action movie as well
really interesting anime about a young man's dream to rise above the world with freedom in his hands. it's long but you'll want more once u catch up.

I think my son is on episode 500-something. He loves this. Unless he finished it. I'm not too sure. I have seen a few episodes and I like it enough to watch it with him from time to time.
