The Royal Palace of Milan, North Italy. was for many centuries the seat of the government of the Kingdom of Lombardy-Veneto and then a royal residence until 1919.

It was seriously damaged by the heavy Anglo-American bo*bing of 1943 ; followed by a state of abandonment that lasted for more than two years, a fact which caused the loss of a good part of the neoclassical interiors.
