Life and chocolates

Was Forest Gump correct? Is life like a box of chocolates? I don't think so. Someone knows what's under that chocolate coating. It could be obvious from the nuts you see by shape, there could be an answer key in the lid, or you can just ask the person who packed it if you got it at a candy shop. Even if it was factory packed and there is no answer key, the manufacturer knows and you could go find out.

But, the movie wouldn't be the same without that iconic dialog.

Metaphorically, no one knows what each individual life (hence the chocolates) has in store for it. You can plan all one wants (researching for the answer key) but at some points, wrenches (up & down dramas; crisis; hardships; etc.) of all sizes, gets thrown into the works (hence, you never knowing what you'll get). It also goes to point of the unknown, is that tomorrow isn't promised to anyone, regardless of age or status.
