Hi all

Just a quick post saying hello and wishing you all well with your fitness, health and general life goals. I been using Cashwalk for a while now but only just started using the feeds/community and look forward to contributing more from now on. Cashwalk has encouraged me to become much more active and since the new year I have really started commiting to getting healthy in body, mind and spirit and have lost over 2 stone since my heaviest a few years back. This month I have stepped it up again and have been averaging over 20k steps a day and am losing more than 2lbs a week. I am 40 in April and it was always my goal to be fitter at 40 than I was at 30 and I am happy to report I am well on the way to this. I will be in the best shape I have been in in a decade by then. When that goal is accomplished I want to be in the best shape I have ever been in by the age of 41. I am very happy in the knowledge that i am moat likely adding years to my life and Who knows maybe that elusive six pack I have always desired is finally attainable as well haha. Cheers all. Peace

That's amazing, glad you could join the party. I also just started getting involved with the feeds, it gets you to your goal and your reward so much faster.

Hi Nikki, thanks for the reply. I used to be an active social media user but became disillusioned with Facebook and inevitably banned from Twitter for wishing harm to racists (#sorrynotsorry). This feel much more like chatboards I used to use when I first started on the Internet way back when.

When you say it helps you get to your goal and reward much faster do you mean in terms of motivation of from the challenges for extra coins? Gotta say it was the challenge rewards that drew me in becuase I had been maxing out my coins every day recently so liked the chance of earning more. I thought it was all linked to Instagram photo submissions so very glad it's all in house on here now.

Great thanks, Danny. I'm loving the walking too. Seems to be making me faster. I used to run (plod) a lot but have started walking up hills more and my running times are coming down despite fewer running sessions.

That's great Karyn, not sure what your running experience is but that could certainly make sense. The extra walking especially if going for longer durations is probably not only helping your endurance but broadening your cardio base and probably even helping your vo2 max even if not significantly. Any exercise/increased activity is going to improve mitochondrial health to a lesser or greater extent meaning you burn furl more efficiently/effectively.

Add to that walking is going to cause much less stress to your body and thus if it has replaced some of your running then when you do run you have more energy in the tank and less injury to deal with meaning you can push that bit harder without even realising it.

Looking forward to running a bit starting in a couple of weeks. A month or so of "easy" zone 2 low intensity steady state and then after extending the duration of that adding in some vo2 max high Intensity stuff
