Motivation from Insurance company

My insurance company has this rewards program where you sync up with a wearable device (mine is a Garmin vivosmart 5) to track different health metrics. They deposit $ into my health savings account when I make certain goals. Now, private health insurance is a scam, but hey, at least they're giving some of my money back to me while motivating me to keep healthy habits!

If I actually had a choice between insurance companies ("free market" lol), this feature would certainly be a good selling point.

My company they have an app called Castlight. We synced that with our insurance. The company encourages us to visit our doctors, etc etc. Our reward are $400 a year for completing our yearly check up, take 10k steps a day, eat fruits, veggies and drink water. Once you hit your goals and reaches your 400. You can earn points to enter into a sweepstakes for gift cards.. like $50 Best Buy, Amazon, visa etc etc.

That's a really cool feature. It helps you get gift cards and it helps them because if you're healthy there's no reason to file claims 😂
