In the gym you might notice that some people place the bar in different spots while squatting, and the reason is because when someone does a high bar squat they place it on their higher back while the low bar is placed lower near the spine. You place the bar depending on what area you want to workout out. For example if you want to workout out you quadriceps or improve Olympic life it's better if you do a high bar but if you want to focus on glutes, hamstring low bar is the better option.
