As a driver, I could hold the steering wheel with both hands and either push them towards each other, or try to pull them apart. (In but sure how strong a strong wheel is, but I never went "full strength" on these exercises.)

Other things I did (as a passenger), lift my legs up a bit too create a bit of tension in my abdomen, plant my feet down firmly and then push them forward or pull them towards me to work my legs a bit.
Well that's something. I don't do that on car rides. I usually use my phone
I see what you did there! You found a creative way to stay active and engaged during a long car ride. That's a great example of thinking outside the box (or in this case, the car!). The exercises you described, like squeezing your legs together and pushing your knees apart, are actually great for engaging your core muscles and improving circulation. It's amazing how much you can do with just a little creativity and some bodyweight resistance. I hope you found the exercises helpful and enjoyable. Did you try any other creative activities or exercises during the car ride, like toe curls or shoulder rolls? And did the driver appreciate your ingenuity?
