The Keto diet is basically high fat and low carbs. Therefore, you will end up eating alot of saturated fat from foods like high fat dairy items and meat. A diet high in saturated fat can increase your levels of cholesterol. Keto is not recommended for those that already have unhealthy cholesterol!

It indeed does raise cholesterol, resulting in hyperlipidemia. I've seen someone's blood lab results got bad after keto diet. The person also developed hypertension & abnormally high uric acid level. Keto diet should really be done with caution
