I would like to make a suggestion, I have learned to plant seeds a little each week, so that they are not all ready at the same time. I do can some stuff but lettuce can't really be canned or frozen, and harvesting all at once seems to go to waste. I try to plant some in pots so I can move them inside when the frost is about to start.
