Mourning Widow (Geranium phaeum) is a clump forming perennial with tall spikes of maroon almost black flowers with white centres. It grows best in damp shade, will tolerate full sun but may not perform as well.

This perennial dies back to below ground level each year in autumn, then fresh new growth appears again in spring.
